1934–1962: SMOCKS BECOME A REQUIRED PART OF THE HIGH SCHOOL DRESS CODE
Poster text:
“The smock finally decided upon resembles the style of an intern’s garb and combines practicality with a neat appearance. Every girl in the Senior High School must wear one at all times, in either rust or dark blue. It was further decided that students wear only the blue smocks for assembly because of the color scheme of the auditorium; and that last year’s green smocks appear only on the art floor.”
—The Daltonian, October 11, 1934
In 1962 the dress code changes and smocks are no longer required.
