November 1, 1929: NEW BUILDING

The Dalton School moves into its spacious new building at 108 East 89th Street. The new building is formally dedicated on Friday, November 1, 1929. Alum Miriam Tobias ’31 reports on the dedication of the new building, “…November 1 was set aside as a tribute to Mrs. Crane, whose birthday it was. Miss Parkhurst introduced Mrs. Crane, Dalton’s benefactor.” A time capsule is placed in the cornerstone as part of the graduation ceremony in May 1929.
